Letter from the Chapter
Potential New Members,
My name is Bettina Beverly and I am the Vice President of Membership of Sigma Kappa here at Washington State University.
My experience here at this university is something I wouldn’t change for the world, and that is because I joined Sigma Kappa. I have come to know my best friends, grow as a woman, and gained leadership experience that I wouldn’t have had elsewhere. When I first applied, I was nervous that sorority life wasn’t for me. I was homesick and was even questioning if WSU was my true home. My experience during primary recruitment had its highs and lows, and I still was questioning if being in a chapter was right for me. But on the final round of primary recruitment I fell in love with Sigma Kappa because the women in this chapter are strong, independent, kind, supportive, and unique. These were the women I felt I could truly be authentic with, and would eventually teach me to become the best version of myself.
My wish for you is that Sigma Kappa becomes your home away from home as it quickly became mine. Whether you are planning to be apart of the Cougar community in the future, or you are a current Coug that is interested in joining a sorority, I strongly encourage you to apply for primary recruitment where you get to experience Sigma Kappa and the other amazing 13 chapters in the campus’s Pahellenic community.
